A phenom, on the other hand, is someone who becomes exceptional later on in life. A prodigy is someone who is exceptional at something from a very young age. The term “phenom” is often used interchangeably with “prodigy.” However, there is a difference between the two. Some of the most recent and notable NBA phenoms include Lebron James Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving These players have all enjoyed tremendous success at a very young age. In many cases, they are players who skipped college and went straight to the NBA. Phenoms are usually extremely gifted athletes who have the potential to become superstars. These players are often referred to as “phenoms.”
